WEEK 24 RESULTS

Points won: 9 - Points Lost: 18
We entered this week's position round in sixth place which matched us up with Team 16 who held fifth place. Both teams were far from their best in the first game but we had the greater struggles as Team 16 came out on top 774-675. We dusted ourselves off and evened the series with an 814-787 win in the second game. Our resurgence didn't last long as Team 16 clobbered us 840-729 in the rubber game of the series to take two of three. They also had the edge in total pinfall by a score of 2401-2218 and  defeated us on points by 18-9.

WOULD A LINEUP CHANGE HELP US?

Looking at the lineups throughout our league, it's evident that nearly every team follows certain conventions. The bowler with the highest average typically bowls last and the bowler with the lowest average typically bowls second. But what of the first and third positions? Is there a trend we might be able to exploit with a lineup shift?

Our own lineup features Quinton bowling first with Brandon bowling third and they have shown distinctive statistical trends. Quinton's scores cover a wide range with high peaks and low valleys whereas Brandon's scores are concentrated in a much smaller range near the middle.

WEEK 23 RESULTS

Points Won: 16 - Points Lost: 11
This week we had Team 3 on the schedule. Quinton was out of action but Kevin was kind enough to step in which saved us from using Quinton's average minus a ten pin penalty per game.

We earned a lopsided win in the first game by a score of 915-804 but Team 3 turned the tables on us in the second game with a 778-878 thumping. Thus, we had a split with a lead of only 11 pins entering the rubber game of the series. Team 3 cooled off considerably in the final game while we were able to hold form. This allowed us to finish the night with a 788-730 win while also seizing the points for total pinfall.

By winning 16 points and losing 11, we improved our record to 160.5-136.5. We have a position round next week. We were 2.5 points behind Team 16 and 5.5 points ahead of The Four Horsemen before last night. Was 16-11 enough to move us up? We should know by the end of the day.

WEEK 22 RESULTS

Points Won: 23 - Points Lost: 4
What a week it was! Garrett was amazing, hitting 33 strikes out of 36 shots and setting the house record with an 876 series. We mere mortals weren't so bad either. As a team we won 23 of the 27 points and we were just good enough to beat the previous league high series by a single pin.

Thanks to Garrett, I had to add another column for 800 series. Garrett, I dare you to make me add a "900" column!

I'M BACK

Since I got sick a couple of weeks ago, I've been neglecting things here. I haven't turned on my laptop in about two weeks. I'm finally back on my feet again so I'll soon be able to get everything back in order and up to date.

More importantly, I want to bowl well. It's so much easier to bowl when one's head doesn't feel like it weighs fifty pounds. I bowled a 705 series in the LVT Sunday afternoon and I'd love to carry that over to Wednesday night.
